It's my 21st birthday y'all---holla! It is incredibly strange to think I am 21. I even found myself saying I was 18 to someone the other day when they asked my age. I paused and thought what am I saying I'm about to turn 21? I guess when I was in mid-conversation I forgot about the aging process and 18 years old just slipped out of my mouth before I could stop and think about it. So the sheer thought of now being 21 is mind boggling. I wonder how long it will take me to say I'm 21 when people ask me how old I am. However, I'm sure this age sinks in faster than any of the others so I'm excited to be 21 and legal. Hip hip hooray! When you think of the stereotypical girl's 21st birthday in Oxford, MS, you immediately think of a birthday sign in which you have to do 21 extremely chaotic things while running around the square with all your "gurl frands;" trying to hit up every bar to make sure you see everyone in order to take one too many birthday shots. Unfortunately, I will become one of those girls tonight. I mean I guess I'll just listen to Drake and reassure myself by saying “You only live once, that's the motto baby YOLO.” I hardly ever go to the square, mainly to avoid the shoulder to shoulder packed bars and also because I'm a cheap skate and rather not spend my money, but tonight I'll make an exception. So in advanced I'd like to apologize to anyone and everyone who will be running into me tonight out on the square. It might not be a pretty sight, but you only turn 21 once so might as well go all out, right? Besides the fact that I am now finally legal, I am also ecstatic about getting my new driver's license. I've had the same picture since 11th grade in high school and I find myself getting questioned if it's even me when I show it to just about anyone in authority. I tend to laugh and say "No, you caught me it's my fake 18-year-old license," but they never find it as humorous as I do. So this weekend when I return home I'll have to hit up the dreaded DMV to get a new picture taken which I'm sure I'll despise just as much as my current one, but at least it'll be sideways now (makes me feel more mature that way). I would hate to steal all the limelight so I'll give a couple shout outs to a few more awesome Aries. Blair Harrison (Sigma Chi) is turning 22 today and Amanda Hall (Delta Gamma) is turning 21! Make sure you tell them happy birthday!!!! Over and out kids—enjoy the pics from some of my friends 21st birthdays that I've had fun celebrating this year. And hopefully I'll see some of you on the square tonight and you can help me celebrate!
