Spring Weekend

Plans for other weekend trips are set in action, and everyone’s thinking tropical or anything located near the beach.

A memorable weekend for most upperclassmen in the spring, however, is Spring Weekend, which is going to be April 13-15. Spring Weekend is an experience that many look forward to each year – with its proximity to Tallahassee and the fact that it’s on Panama City Beach, students find it to be the perfect ending to their year before they cram for finals.

Spring Weekend is known nationally as the largest collegiate music festival, with most of its attendance being students from FSU, UF, UCF and other Southern schools located in  or near Florida. Not only are you staying on the beach, but you also get to room with your friends and meet others who have traveled from different places.

This year, the excitement is raised even higher with the hard-hitting DJs Max Vangeli, Thomas Gold and, of course, Dj Crespo. All have performed at venues in Tallahassee earlier this year and were a complete success.  If that music isn’t your scene, there’s the beach to cure your landlocked woes and local establishments nearby that are welcome to anyone.

With its success in previous years, there are now a total of six hotels that students get to stay in, and with this, a security system to ensure everyone’s safety. Upon check in, students are searched thoroughly for anything illegal. All they ask is that you follow their guidelines, bring good vibes and have a memorable time. It’s a weekend that allows you to relive spring break and get some more sun before you find yourself locked inside studying; I’d buy your ticket before they sell out.
