Get Swimsuit Ready the Smart Way

Pi Beta Phi

As we begin February, many of people will start wondering about where they will be spending spring break. They may also be wondering about how they will possibly get swimsuit-ready in a little more than a month.

We can see this mindset echoed in the U.S. government's poll of the top 10 New Year's Resolutions of 2012, where two of the 10 deal with either eating more nutritious or exercising regularly. In theory, combining the two seems like the perfect solution to your spring break body woes.  In reality, people get lazy and give into their lesser desires for junk food and late night Taco Bell runs. One-third of people give up on their resolutions before February even starts, and by the end of the month, only about 20 percent of the original number of resolution-makers are still sticking with it. This is good for some people who are sick of having to deal with an overcrowded gym every day, but it’s bad for those feigned dieters who won’t be making their image of their perfect spring break body come to fruition. So what do they do?

The only healthy way to lose weight is to eat nutritiously and exercise. By eating well, your cravings will eventually lessen and by exercising you will feel happier, more active and actually be ready to have fun on spring break instead of feeling too frail to get up and do anything.  It’s difficult to stick to sometimes but I think we can all agree it’s better than the alternative.
