It's My Party

Turning 21 is a huge milestone in every person’s life. Not only can you walk around Red Lion holding a beer without looking over your shoulder every minute, you can also have the biggest birthday celebration known to man. The awkward birthdays that you’ve had between turning 19, when you can use your own I.D and enter the bars on campus and now, as you turn 21 and can buy yourself a drink, might have been boring, but as you prepare to turn 21, you can do your birthday the right way.

Step 1: Create a facebook event, or have someone create one for your birthday blowout. Sometimes people can see you as being desperate if you make your own event, so if you have some really good friends who love to plan parties, go ahead and hint to them that you want to have the biggest birthday party for your 21st. Facebook is a great way to let the world know about your party. Whether you want to have a small get together that you know will turn into a big themed party, Facebook is the place to let your guests know the details. With its unique “events” page, you or your friends can create an event which lists the date, time and reasons for celebrating. You can even come up with a crazy name for the event to catch the eyes of your guests. Remember to say whether the party is BYOB or if you will be supplying the drinks for the party. Chances are, your guests will want to celebrate hardcore in your honor, so invite all your friends on Facebook who really love you. Don’t forget to make the event either public or private, in case you don’t want randoms showing up at the party. If all goes well, you might even get a few handles of vodka as birthday gifts which should last you a while.

Step 2: This step is mostly aimed towards the girls, but boys can feel free to participate in this as well. If you have a friend who is turning 21, go ahead and make them a “shot book.” What this consists of is a scrapbook made by a bunch of friends in the honor of someone’s birthday. Every friend gets to make one page and include pictures of themselves with the birthday girl and a nice birthday note. This book will be cherished forever and is an amazing keepsake. It’s also fun to designate a type of shot for every page and decorate as much as you can. This shot book is guaranteed to be looked at for years to come.

Step 3: Take thousands of pictures to remember this night, because if you’re turning 21, you clearly won't!

Remember to have fun, but be smart, and do not take 21 shots! Pace yourself and enjoy the company of your friends. You only turn 21 once, and I’ve heard it’s the best birthday of them all.
