Watch For DistractionsIn a previous article entitled "Your Study Buddy," I discussed my top tips for studying for finals week. The last one was to "Give yourself breaks", because constant studying will mess you UP! One thing I like to do for breaks is to watch an episode of "Law & Order: SVU" on TV... if that show isn't your cup of tea, I've compiled a list of my top three TV shows that will ensure your break is as successful as your studying. 1. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Because who doesn't love a good Danny DeVito? This show is awesome. The characters on this show own a bar and literally get involved in the strangest situations ever, from getting held hostage by a family of inbreds to creating musicals to accidentally murdering a prostitute. Please watch it... it comes on FX and you will be so thankful to me for giving you "It's Always Sunny" as a source of such a good laugh. 2. "Lost." The first two seasons were honestly the greatest things I have ever watched on television. Now, "Lost" is dunzo, BUT you can watch all of the seasons on Hulu Plus! It really sucks you into the drama/craziness of the show and is worth trying- you cannot start the show from anywhere, though. You MUST start it from the beginning, watch chronologically and pay attention to everything, because if you don't, you will be seriously lost. The only downside is that you will probably only want to keep watching, which will deter you from your studies. 3. "Criminal Minds" Okay, I'll admit it... I'm kind of a crime show nerd. While "L&O" is my all-time fave, "Criminal Minds" is excellent. This is another show that really sucks you in, but it is, in a sense, better than "Lost" because you can pick up the show from almost any point/season. The characters are GREAT... freaking Shemar Moore is F-I-N-E as a dime *Drools.* It's a really great distraction from the woes of finals life. Consult this list when you're looking for a good break to your studies, but be warned that I may have introduced you to your new favorite three TV shows of all time!
