Facebook, the magical land of trolls, knights fighting for a cause, and overly dramatic queens and kings. You get the picture, right?
Many of us use this media outlet on a daily basis, and some more so than others. Either way, we’ve all come into contact with the same kinds of people in our news feeds. Here are the 14 types of people you’ll see or have already seen on Facebook.
1. The Selfie Enthusiasts
These people are obsessed with sharing selfies, ranging from two or more a day. Everyday! It’s like they have an alarm set on their phone on when to take and upload a selfie. Wake up, eat breakfast, selfie time!
2. The Share Contributors
Ooh I like this, I like that, and I like these! Share, share, share! These people love to share things like quotes, recipes, pictures, or statuses made by others. They rarely post a status of their own. The like button is cool, but they prefer to press share instead.
3. The Music Master
From music videos of their favorite songs to a video of them singing, these people love sharing anything music related. Their statuses usually consist of song lyrics, and it’s pretty obvious that they have a powerful love for listening or creating music.
4. The Advocates for Social Justice
Providing a voice for those who are too afraid to voice their own opinions. These people usually share and post things about events or news that’s happening around the world. They want you to be aware of what is going on, and are usually supportive of the movements and protests occurring.
5. Those against the Advocates for Social Justice
These people usually voice their opinions which differ from those of the social justice advocates. They make it known that they do not agree or support the movements that are occurring. The posts or statuses that they share often lead to arguments.
6. The Hopeless Romantics
Love is in the air, or so they wish it was for them at least. The hopeless romantics of Facebook are usually posting love songs, love quotes, and indirect love statuses to some unknown being. Don’t worry love will come your way soon, we’re rooting for you!
7. The Drama Queens and Kings
“I SHALL WRITE IN ALL CAPS SO THAT THE WORLD SHALL FEEL MY WRATH!”
Yeah these people are always in some kind of drama, and use Facebook as a way to vent about their dramatic lives. When it comes to discretion, they have no boundaries and write or post whatever the hell they want. It seems that they simply do not have the time to pick up the phone or converse face to face with the person in question (the person they are talking about usually remains anonymous, thus adding a sense of mystery to dramaville). You’re either with them or against them.
8. The Peace-Keepers
The Peace-keepers are always sharing or writing uplifting and positive quotes. They often help to find common ground within arguments and disagreements too. They want nothing more than to spread their wisdom and motivate others to live freely and peacefully.
9. The "I've had it with Facebook!" People
“I’m deactivating my Facebook tomorrow at 3 p.m. eastern time! Comment and tell me that you care!” These people often post about either deactivating their Facebooks or going on a “deleting-spree.” They often have acquired too many useless friendships with strangers that they barely interact with, and want nothing more than to wave their wands and make them disappear. There are also those who have just plain had it with all of the foolery within their news feeds or inboxes, and plan to take a break from it all. They’ll be back, they always come back muahaha.
10. The "Face-Tweeters"
Can someone please tell these people about Twitter, I don’t think they’ve heard of it!
Status, after status, after status, these people give us a play by play of what happens throughout their day. “Heading to the store.” “On my way to work.” “Getting ready for bed.” They post frequently about what they’re currently doing or getting ready to do. You don't feel compelled to ask these people “How was your day,” because they’ve talked about it all day on Facebook.
11. Those that barely come on Facebook/post things
(But when they do you will know). It’s hard to believe that there are people whose lives remain unaffected by the powerful pull of social media. They can go days, weeks, or months without having to go on Facebook. Most of the time the only signs you’ll get of their presence online is when they randomly like, share, or comment on something of yours.
12. The Entertainment "Spoilers"
“I can’t believe the episode ended with Sophia kissing Jake!” These are the people you’d like to avoid running into on Facebook when you’ve missed an episode of your favorite show. They tend to spoil shows that others haven’t been able to watch yet. They’re not all that bad though, sometimes they come in handy. When you have to take a bathroom or snack break and miss a few minutes of your show, these people will have you covered. From sports to award shows, they will fill you in on what you’ve missed.
13. Those "Look at my kids and/or pets!" People
Okay, yes they are all adorable but must you post pictures and videos of them every day? These people constantly post things about their children or their pets, which is not so bad. Who wouldn’t like a dose of cuteness on their news feed! Their Facebook friends are probably starting to feel like virtual aunts and uncles.
14. The Partiers
These are the people that you look to when you need advice on what to do for the weekend. They know the hottest spots in town and have great drink and food recommendations. If you can’t beat them, join them.
