To The Girl That’s Waiting For Him To Come Back…

Your life does not need to stop. You are a strong woman, a beautiful woman, a wonderful woman.

Don’t.

Do you remember that last text message?

Do you remember all the ice cream you had?

Do you remember the agony you felt for weeks, making you stay in bed?

Do you remember when months had passed and a little thing would still remind you of him?

Do you remember your friends telling you to forget about him?

Listen to them.

You are worth so much more than to sit around and wait for him to come back to you. It’s not supposed to work like that, my darling. I’m tired of hearing girls say that they are just going to wait for him to make up his mind and grow up and then he’ll know he has to come back. Guys are simple, they know what they like and what they don’t. Yes, maybe there is some maturing that needs to be done but you don’t have to wait. Your life doesn’t need to stop. You are a strong woman, a beautiful woman, a wonderful woman. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, darling. {Psalm 139:14}

I know exactly how you feel, I’ve been there. Lying in bed wondering if he’s thinking about me, if he misses me, if he’ll come back to me. I’ve been the one that thought I had found the one. The ‘what-ifs’ are all you can think about. I’ve been there. You may think that it’s all over now, that you’ll never find anyone like them. Well, that’s the point. It didn’t last with this guy for a reason. God has a plan for all of us, we may not know it, but it’s there.

So listen to this, we can’t believe that out in this big ole’ world of ours there is only one person for us. We can’t. I believe there are people we are meant to be with for a period of time, one by one making each other better people through various experiences. It may not seem like that right now but with time, you will learn something out of this experience. I know, darlin’, that right now all you can think about is how he touched your heart, your soul, how he changed your life in a way that you don’t think anyone else will be able to do. Maybe nobody else will, but you’ll feel something even more amazing, I promise. Someone will come and sweep you off your feet. Treat you like the princess you are. Love you unconditionally and most importantly- never leave.

I can see you furrowing your brow and asking ‘what the heck is this girl saying?’ So, here it is a little clearer I hope. Do not wait for this last guy. He isn’t waiting on you. Do not say if it were meant to be he will come back. My dear, if it were meant to be, he would’ve never left. So, say goodbye to the pain, the questions, and please say goodbye to him.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
