Growing up is something we look forward to our whole life. Driving, college, going off on our own, and of course new privileges and responsibilities. But as you grow up it's important to appreciate all the small things in life that get you through the day. Whether it's a few extra cents saved here or there or even an unexpected text, sometimes we need that little shove to keep us going, and we may find it in unexpected places.

1. Cheap gas prices

2. Care packages from home

3. Getting out of work early

4. A surprising amount of retweets

5. PUPPIES

6. Turning on the TV right when your favorite movie/show is starting

7. Fresh clothes out of the dryer


8. Hearing your favorite song on the radio

9. Unexpectedly running into your friends when you're out running errands

10. Wearing your favorite outfit

11. Buying new clothes

12. Enjoying your favorite drink


13. Relaxing with a cup of tea and some great music

14. Enjoying a beautiful day outside

15. That feeling after a great workout

16. That feeling you get when you spend time with someone you love

17. Getting mail that isn't your bills...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
