1. "Boy-see"

The correct way to pronounce Boise. NOT "Boy-Z."

2. BRC

The Boise River Cafe - AKA the main campus cafeteria.

3. The Pod

Where you'll wait in line for half an hour at 11 PM on Saturday night after a football game to use a meal swipe to get a chicken quesadilla and a milkshake. Also the reason for the Freshman 15.

4. BSU Snaps

A Snapchat account that BSU students can send pictures and videos to and will be posted on their story. Probably the worst and grossest (yet funny) Snapchat account you will ever see.

5. Beach House / The Coop / Yacht Club

Fraternity and Sorority houses.

6. The Greenbelt

The running and biking trail along the Boise River that runs through the city and right next to campus.

7. "Lit"

A term college students often use to describe something that is really cool.

Example: "Dude, that party was lit."

*Also can refer to the massive Christmas tree in the middle of campus that is lit up all through December.

8. Idahome

A name Idaho natives often use to describe Idaho. Pretty clever.

9. Pie Hole

The pizza place right off campus that always tastes better at 2 AM and is full of BSU students.

10. "Spot the Californian"

One of my personal favorites - a game that people play on campus where they try to determine which students are from California based on how they react to the "cold" weather. AKA anything below 60 degrees.

11. Table Rock

The infamous local lookout where you can see all of Boise. You can drive or hike to it, but let's be honest, I always drive.

12. The Quad

The dreaded center of campus where every club/organization is forcefully passing out flyers. Sometimes you'll even get to experience a crazy man standing on a box and yelling about witches. You pretty much have to walk through the Quad to get to any class, so my favorite tactic is putting my head down and trying to make it through unnoticed.

13. Dead Week

The week before finals where classes should be canceled and we should get to study, but teachers decide to make us come to class anyway.

14. The Corral

The student cheering section.

The louder we cheer, the better they play. The better they play, the louder we cheer. It's a vicious cycle.

15. The BLUE

Sometimes referred to as "Smurf Turf," it is the incredible blue field that Boise State is known for. Probably the coolest field in college football, but we're a little biased.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
