You Know You're the Mom of Your Friend Group When

Every friend group has one, and no matter how much you love or despise having this title, you are the glue of your friend group. You know you're the "mom" of your friend group when:

1. Your friends actually call you "mom" in public places.

2. You help your group decide on plans, and you are the voice of reason making sure everyones' needs are met.

3. Crazy weekend of partying? You were most likely taking care of everyone/getting them out of the messes they found themselves in.

4. Your friends also feel extremely guilty that they made you take care of them.

5. Your friends call your boyfriend "Dad."

6. Your purse is probably filled with an infinite amount of things your friends might need.

7. You give pep talks like nobody's business.

8. You usually have your life together, or at least make it seem that way to everyone.

9. You find yourself texting your friends to remind them about homework, tests and projects due in the classes you have together.

10. You find yourself texting your friends in a passive-aggressive manner when they don't show up to class, saying the ever-so-helpful, "So...you can only have 1 more absence until you fail. It's September. Just saying..."

11. You've been the DD more times than you'd like to count. Gotta make sure those kids get home safe.

12. When you aren't the DD and decide to live on the wild side for a night, your friends speak of it as one of the most epic nights and never let you forget it.

13. Giving advice is your forte.

14. And when your friends don't take your advice, you still love them.

15. You get protective of your "children" when they are dating someone new.

16. Let's be real, you're always protective of your friends.

17. When you're dropping someone off at home, you secretly always wait to make sure they get into the house before driving away.

18. When your friends are driving, you probably make weird driving noises or backseat drive to make sure everyone gets there in one piece.

19. You find yourself trying to get everyone out the door to make it places on time.

Most of all, you love your friend group with an unbreakable loyalty. You are mom, your friends know it, and they love you for it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
