30 Struggles Every Baylor Student Has

We love our school. A lot. But, don't be fooled, because #BaylorProblems has been a frequently used hashtag on Twitter since before I even got here.

1. That attendance policy, and the fact that almost every Baylor professor decides to take attendance. AND throw in participation points. We pay a lot of $$$ to go here; some mental health days are necessary.

2. Wanting Chick-Fil-A at 12:05 p.m. in the SUB. There's just no way you are getting french fries. Sorry.

3. Waiting on the computer every Sunday for 5:00 p.m. to come around and PRAYING you will get football tickets to the next big game.

4. Also, praying NOT to get those dreaded berm tickets.

5. The two weeks up until Homecoming. Pigskin. Float. Pigskin. Float. Chapter Meeting. Pledge Songs. Pigskin. Pigskin. Pigskin.

6. Every week up until Sing. Practice. Practice. Practice.

7. Waiting in line at the SUB for Sing tickets. Have a class at 9:30 a.m.? Sorry, dude. You're going to have to take the absence.

8. Not having any available parking spaces, and then getting a ticket virtually anywhere else. Thanks, Baylor Parking Services.

9. Break up with a boyfriend? Get in a fight with your best friend? Sucks, because you will probably see them on campus or at a party the next day. But it's ok! There are plenty of fish in the Baylor sea.

10. Seeing the I Know Where I'm Going shirt and thinking, "I hope so."

11. Being an upperclassman in chapel class. Oh no.

12. The anxiety of a Baylor football game. #Big12Champs

13. Trying to go to Torchy's at dinnertime, lunchtime or basically anytime.

14. The long hike one takes to the BSB. But HEY, move to LL Sams and all will be solved.

15. The SLC all of a sudden becoming the new happening place to hang out.

16. Longboards, bikes and everything nice. JK. Not that nice. Kind of in the way.

17. Finding a table in the Moody basement during finals. Or Jones. Or practically anywhere on this campus.

18. Hearing the words, "Ring by Spring."

19. Seeing a "ring by spring" occur.

20. Not being 21 yet, and having to pay a $5 cover to get into the only "reasonable" Waco bar for a Wednesday night of karaoke.

21. Arriving at a 4-way intersection. Our student body will never figure those out.

22. Dia being moved from 10th street.

23. Getting an e-mail almost every week saying that your Baylor inbox is almost full. Thanks, chapter e-mails.

24. Having to change all of your important Baylor passwords at least once a semester. Then having to memorize your new password and messing it up for at least the next 3 weeks.

25. Wearing a flannel and leggings on a "cold" morning, only to realize its 85 degrees outside by the time you eat lunch.

26. Making the brave walk through Hankamer as a non-business major. Can you say "intimidating?"

27. Having one day off for fall break. Then having 4 midterms the week after it.

28. AirBear. Enough said.

29. Tornado warning? Icy roads? Sorry, class is still on.

30. Off-campus restaurants not accepting BearBucks anymore. "But, I used to spend all of mine at Chipotle!"

With the help of #BaylorProblems, I found some frequent "complaints" by Baylor students. But it's all good. We have it good here at Baylor, and we learn to embrace this list of struggles at our beloved university. I mean, look how much McLane has donated - I'm sure we will all graduate feeling the same way (maybe with a little less spending cash on Baylor, but that's okay).

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
