From Hard Summer To Lollapalooza: This Is The Month For Music Festivals

With the final days of July quickly approaching, students are beginning to realize that their lazy summer days spent at the beach or hanging with friends are soon going to be just a distant memory. Reality has hit; within a few short weeks it will be back to sitting through lectures, hours of homework, and just taking each school day as it comes. With this in mind, students are looking for one more opportunity to go crazy and make some questionable decisions with their friends. August is the month of two upcoming major music festivals. With the top artists in the industry performing, who wouldn’t want to spend a weekend partying with friends and thousands of other new people? So boys, get out your Hawaiian shirts and over-sized jerseys from the back of your closets, and girls, flaunt your skin-tight cropped spandex, tutus, and fanny packs (the one and only time this is fashionably acceptable) that you have been saving to wear for this very occasion. It is its time to rally and make this an unforgettable end to your summer. Well. at least lets hope you remember it…

West Coast: Hard Summer Music Festival (08/01/15-08/02/15)

Hard Summer has grown to become one of California’s leading EDM Music Festivals. With fans flocking in from all over the West Coast, the EDM community has gained a lot of attention and popularity. Set in Los Angles, this year’s festival is said to be bigger then ever! With a new venue that features five different stages, fans will hear two days of bass-dropping music from the top DJ’s and producers. Besides the music, this festival is known for its rave wear. Where there is no limit to how far people will take their fashion choices, and people really do test the limits! With headliners like The Weeknd, Jack U, Chromeo and Dillon Francis, the cost of a $170 ticket is merely a small price to pay. To say that it is going to be an insane two days of raving, dancing, and overall craziness is a massive understatement!

Mid-West: Lollapalooza (07/31/15-08/02/15)

Located right in the middle of Grant Park in the beautiful city of Chicago, Lollapalooza brings in people from all around the country. With its established reputation of being one of the United States’ most popular music festivals, it's no wonder there is always such hype around Chi-Town come time for Lolla. The festival is known to feature a variety of different artists which attract all age groups. But if you’re in the mood to rage, you know you will be spending a majority of your time at the Perry’s stage. It’s hot, packed and you really never know what going to happen; but that is the great thing about Perry’s. Lolla is also said to draw in some of the nicest and most attractive people, so if you are single you definitely may want to check this one out! For this year’s lineup, the festival is featuring headliners like Nicky Romero, Metallica, Bassnectar, and Sam Smith. It is looking like Lolla is set to have its best weekend yet!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
