Have a busy day today? I understand. We all do. But what happens to your day when you find out your husband, wife, sibling, relative or best friend was innocently murdered in an American mass-shooting? Your world stops spinning. You’re confused. “Why,” you ask yourself. “Why her? Why him?”
Gun laws have always been an issue in our nations history. There are many reasons why guns should be allowed in people’s homes, but it’s also hard to put a label on a first impression to decide whether or not someone will be responsible with the power a gun could provide. Whether you are for or against gun laws in our country, I think we can all agree based upon our country’s history that guns are destructive. According to the F.B.I., America has had 160 mass-shootings (not including any domestic violence or gang shootings) from January 2000 to September 2014. It is time to take a stand so our world won’t have to stop ever again. It is time to take a stand for our friends. It is time to take a stand for our families. It is time to take a stand for ourselves and the comfort to know we can walk anywhere and feel safe. It is time to take a stand, now.
I recently found a video with so many celebrities taking a stand, I lost count. Whether we like it or not, people listen to celebrities so I am thankful for this video and beyond that, it’s actually pretty powerful. Are you still too busy to watch? It’s only a minute and a half long and might truly save your life. Spread the word and take a stand.
