17 Things To Do When You're Feeling Down

Everyone has those off days, and while sometimes we need to just sulk in it and have a bad day, if you're up to turning that off day around, here are a few ways.

1. Go get yourself a soft serve ice cream cone covered in rainbow sprinkles, then eat that ice cream cone. It's scientifically proven that one cannot be sad while eating rainbow sprinkles.

2. Text your best friend.

3. Take yourself out for a little shopping day. Buy that pair of heels that you don't need but totally deserve.

4. Step outside, look up at the sky, and think of everything out there that you have yet to see and experience and all of the adventures ahead of you.

5. Go through old picture of a fun trip and reminisce.

6. Look up pictures of puppies or tea cup pigs.

7. Watch your favorite movie with a friend and a large glass of wine, and it's fine if that friend is the wine.

8. Buy some of your favorite flowers for yourself just because.

9. Carry out a random act of kindness. If you can't think of a way to put a smile on your own face, putting one on a another's will do the trick.

10. Take a nap. When you wake up you will feel rested and refreshed.

11. Bake a batch of cookies, and eat some... or a lot of the dough.

12. Head to the gym and work out the frustrations of your day.

13. Plan a fun adventure for the upcoming weekend, or start a spontaneous one!

14. Grab drinks with a friend you've been wanting to catch up with.

15. Start and finish the series Orange Is The New Black.

16. Cry it out, and then, as hard as it might be, force a smile.

17. Write down a list of all that you are thankful for.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
