12 Inspiring One Tree Hill Quotes

*Cue Gavin DeGraw's "I Don't Want To Be"*

September 23 marked the 12th anniversary of everyone's favorite teen inspirational drama, One Tree Hill. It's hard to believe it has been 12 years since the first episode of One Tree Hill aired.

The show that captured all of our hearts with its incredible characters has now been around since I was nine years old...now that's a weird thought.

The show brought us Brooke, the classic mean-girl-turned-inspiring teen turned wise and talented woman.

Lucas, the sensitive, brooding, literary heartthrob turned even more sensitive literary heart throb.

Nathan, the sexy jerk jock turned perfect husband and father.

Haley, the nerd-turned-music sensation turned devoted wife of sexy jock and mother.

Peyton, the whiny victim with "people always leave" as a mantra turned self-motivated world changer.

They each taught us lessons we all needed as we moved through our teen years, and gave us the perfect show to binge-watch on Netflix well into our twenties.

So, in light of the show celebrating 12 years of almost-too-cheesy, soap opera-esque yet totally inspiring drama that made you cry four million times per episode, here are 12 quotes from One Tree Hill to live by.

1. "Sometimes life will kick you around, but sooner or later, you realize you're not just a survivor. You're a warrior, and you're stronger than anything life throws your way." - Brooke

*suddenly feels like you can conquer anything*

2. "It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re 17 and planning for someday. And then quietly and without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And then someday is yesterday. And this is your life." - Nathan

OMG Nathan you're so profound....and gorgeous.

3. "Live for the moment because everything else is uncertain." - Rachel

#true

4. "Sometimes people write the things that they can't say" - Haley

5. "It doesn't matter how you plan it. It doesn't matter how much you envision it. Without even knowing it, sometimes life has a way of finding you with exactly what you need. Or exactly who you need." - Quinn

6. "We're all crazy. Some of us just hide it better than others."- Nathan

Nope, just crazy for you.

7. "Anyone who thinks this is more than you can handle, is less than the kind of person you need in your life. " - Uncle Keith

But really.

8. "I believe in true love. I believe in love at first sight. I believe love conquers all. And that doesn't mean there's not gonna be hard days or difficult things to deal with, because there will be. But finding that person that does it for you and knowing that person loves you back, it just makes everything so much easier." - Haley

*crying*

9. "Someone once said; ‘It’s the good girls who keep diaries. The bad girls never have the time.' Me… I just wanna live a life I’m gonna remember. Even if I don’t write it down." - Brooke

And I just want to live your life, Sophia Bush.

10. "Sometimes in order to move forward, you have to go back." - Nathan

11. " Look, if you want something, go get it. It's that simple." -Lucas

Well, coming to get you Chad Michael Murray.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
