Writing A Song For Christ
note-ables.org

Several years ago, there was a song that I wrote called "You are my Brother."

That song was written for a talent show and it became a song that many people could relate to and enjoyed. The meaning of the song was actually written to show others that we are all connected no matter what phase of life we may be in on our walk with Christ. Throughout our lives, we often go through various trials and tribulations with our brothers and sisters in Christ by our sides, but do we truly understand where the other person is coming from?

This is a story about writing a song from the Heart for Christ that shows how we are truly brothers and sisters in Christ; though we may not clearly see what it truly means to be a brother or sister in Christ and to be able to relate to the other person.

Meet Jeremy and Cindy, they are two people who daily try to see the picture through the lives of the teenagers they help mentor. Jeremy is a youth minister and Cindy is his best friend who regularly helps him out and together they want to help the teens get through the trials; knowing that they are not alone for some of the children that they work with came from different backgrounds. Cindy and Jeremy wanted to teach the teenagers what it means to be there for each other and Cindy often wrote A Capella songs to help to help the teens to clearly see what they may not understand and Jeremy often listened and help counsel the young teens.

One day, a fifteen-year-old boy came to Jeremy and Cindy and he asked if he could stay a little later and talk with them both about setting up some counseling for him to help him better to understand what it truly meant to be a brother in Christ and to learn how to become an example for the younger children that may come from the same background. After some consideration, they decided to help counsel this little boy together.

The next day, Cindy was thinking about writing a song that would help Jeremy and herself to fully understand this little boy that would allow them to see his perspective. That night Jeremy and Cindy sat down together and talked about how their hearts have been touched through counseling these children and having somebody who they willing to trust that would look into their eyes and see their perspective. A few weeks later, at the church they attended, Jeremy and Cindy were studying with a teenage girl named Dianne about the possibility of being baptized. The children in this youth group have come from various walks of life and Jeremy and Cindy was making a difference that will forever impact those teens in the future.

Jeremy and Cindy continued counseling the teenagers and as the teens were learning they became members of the church. They also started writing a song that would be a song of praise and hope for these new members that remind them that they are never alone and though the teens were broken Jeremy and Cindy took them in with care.

Psalms 34:18 (King James Version) The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

They continued to write the song that God has placed on their heart to make a difference in their lives.

Each of the teens that Jeremy and Cindy was working with each continued to grow in their relationship with God and started to grow as Christians. Cindy continued to write to write the songs to help other teens realize and see that they are not alone and that they are brothers and sisters in Christ and then they learn to see how they can learn from others and take a look into the eyes of others . Throughout the next few years, Jeremy and Cindy continued to work together with the teens who came into the youth group and they felt that God has placed a song on their heart that needed to be written to give the teens hope and encouragement.

Acts 15:32 (New International Version) Judas and Sila, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.

Those songs that Jeremy and Cindy wrote became the songs of A Capella praise that the youth group would sing to bring hope and encouragement to the teens who need it most during their devotional time. Jeremy and Cindy continued to work together with the youth group and though Cindy continued to write songs to encourage others at that time in their life who needed to hear a song of hope that later turned to praise for they needed to hear those songs at that point in their lives. Fast forward three years and Jeremy and Cindy were still best friends who were still working together to make a difference. Jeremy was still the youth minister and Cindy would often be the one who the girls would talk to when they felt like they couldn’t talk to Jeremy. The two working together made an impact on the lives of many teens through their acapella songs that helped them to see what it meant to be a brother or sister in Christ and though they may not see the bond they have making them brothers and sisters in Christ. The pair continued to be the encouragement that was needed at the right time in the right place at that point in their lives to help them to learn how to get a better understanding of what it means to walk in the shoes of others.

Hebrews 3:13 (King James Version) But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Jeremy and Cindy wrote A Capella songs of hope and praise to show them that they are all brothers and sisters in Christ and to learn what it means to see it from their point of view. They wrote a song together that God placed on their heart to help others to see how they are bonded together and to see how they help each other grow together. God placed a sing on their heart that needed to be written to help encourage one another and to help them to see that they are brothers and sisters in Christ and to see it from the other perspective to help them to understand what it truly means to be there for one another.

Write a song that speaks to your heart, write a song of praise to God to say thank you for being my father and letting us have brothers and sisters in Christ who will build each other up and let God put the words on your heart to share with others who may need it most.

Write a song that God puts on your heart to encourage one another and write a song that gives GOD the Glory and makes it a praise for the blessings you have been given through the talent and just say thank you to the Father who loves us so.

Write A Song for Christ and Write a Song of the heart.

Amen.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
